Hi All
Over the week we had 4 runners representing the stable, Rocking Easy, Purettan, Mia Forza and Chart.
Thursday at Ipswich saw Easy Rocking gelding, Rocking Easy, race in a Class One.
Ridden by Jake Hull, he had the gelding in a perfect spot 3rd the fence, and upon straightening looked as though he was going to be in the finish, he ran 2nd beaten a nose, and if you look at the replay the last 50metres the winning jockeys whip got stuck in our blinkers, forcing him to race the last bit with blinkers covering his vision unfortunately, he still tried hard, and was consistent as ever, a win isnt far away for him I am sure.
Saturday was Gold Coast Stakes Day, and we were represented by Mia Forza and Purettan.
Mia Forza was ridden by Joe Bowditch. She once again showed good early speed and was straight to the front, coming to the turn she was travelling well, and Joe decided to switch to the better going down the middle of the track, holding off the challengers to record another tough win, she is a gutsy filly and will now have a break. Joe reported that she was never comfortable in the ground so it was good to see her tough it out and adds lots of merit to the win.
Well done to Mr Crabbia and all connected with the filly, she is a little gem!
Purettan was in the feature race of the day, the Gold Coast Stakes. Unfortunately he once again bumped into another in form horse with a liking for the wet, in Tierqualo. He raced terrific once again and thats now his third 2nd place in a row, he is knocking on the door of a win, I can confidently say there will be one around the corner as he has never run a bad race!
Sunday saw the family owned galloper Chart running at Sunshine Coast first up over 1400m.
The meeting was switched to the PolyTrack, and with Jake Hull on board, he was quite unlucky as came out of the gates and stumbled badly. For the best part of 300m during the run he was 6-8lengths last, and really did his best work late, only being beaten into 5th a margin a little under 3 lengths, it was a huge run, and indicitave that hes in for a good preparation this time, we will see him in town shortly.
Regards Toby
